Terms of Service
Last updated: June 7, 2026
Welcome to Shride. By utilizing our mobile application, APIs, or marketing platform websites, you agree to comply with the terms and rules outlined in this document.
1. Platform Services
Shride is a technology platform connecting individual mobility partners and riders going along similar routes. Shride is not a taxi service or public transit carrier. We provide route matching, cashless wallet collections, and document vetting capabilities.
2. Account Registration & Vetting
To maintain network safety, all users agree to:
- Provide accurate, current registration data.
- Complete government ID checks (Passport, Driver's License, or State ID checks).
- Ensure vehicle roadworthiness and active insurance cover (for mobility partners).
- Never share user login credentials or allow unverified users to ride under your profile.
3. Non-Commercial Fare Splitting
Shride operates on a cost-sharing carpooling framework. Mobility partners agree that the fares received are meant to split costs (gasoline, tolls, wear-and-tear) and are **not** meant to run commercial passenger carrier operations. Charging commercial premiums is a direct violation of our Terms of Service and may result in immediate profile suspension.
4. Cashless Payments & Escrow
All ride bookings are processed through our cashless payment partner. Fares are charged when a matching request is successfully scheduled and held in escrow. Cash payouts are distributed to mobility partners automatically following successful trip completions. Mobility partners agree not to solicit cash payments from riders.
5. Rules of Conduct
Users must maintain courteous behavior during shared travels. Shride reserves the right to terminate accounts that violate our safety policies, display aggressive behavior, operate vehicles under the influence, or fail verification checks.
6. Limitations of Liability
Shride provides matching technology and vetting checkpoints, but cannot control mobility partner behavior on the road. Shride is not liable for accidents, route delays, loss of personal items, or scheduling disputes arising between commuters on matched trips, except as explicitly covered under our corporate insurance partners.
